LPS' enhanced rod guide for maximum durability and rod string stability
PowerFlo™ Rod Guides
PowerFlo™ rod guides were developed to solve the most common failure modes seen in conventional rod guide designs—premature wear, rod body debonding, excessive stiffness, and flow-induced friction losses. Many legacy rod guides are optimized for manufacturing simplicity rather than downhole dynamics, leading to shortened run life and increased intervention frequency.
Through a strategic partnership with Oilfield Piping Systems (OPS), LPS combined proven rod guide design with its proprietary Polyolefin Ketone (POK) material technology to engineer a guide that performs as part of a complete system. The result is a rod guide that reduces turbulence, stabilizes the rod string, and maintains flexibility without sacrificing durability.
Designed for the realities of rod lift. Engineered for long-term performance
CFD-Optimized by Design
- PowerFlo™ rod guides feature a straight-vane geometry refined using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to reduce flow disruption, minimize friction losses, and support smoother downhole operation. Comparative CFD results are available upon request.
Built to Flex Without Fatigue
- The patented 2-piece mold design provides exceptional adhesion to the rod body while maintaining the flexibility required to reduce cyclic stress and rod fatigue during operation.
Stability Where It Matters Most
- An extended 13-inch overall guide length improves rod string stability in high-load and buckling-prone wells—helping reduce wear, vibration, and unplanned interventions.
Proven Materials for Harsh Conditions
- PowerFlo™ rod guides are available in high-performance PK (polyketone) and PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) materials to match downhole conditions. Both materials provide excellent wear resistance, thermal stability, and durability in demanding rod lift environments.
